Peach Palette, Autumnal Wedding at The Garrison

Hello Again, and Happy Friday!

Diana from Jubilee Events was great to work with during the planning of Jenna and Mikes’ wedding. From the beginning right through the day of, Jubilee Events makes sure that everyone is on the same page and their clients have literally nothing to worry about on their big day. If you hire them as your planner, you will pretty much only need to show up, they take care of everything else. We appreciate a good planner, and every time we have worked with Jubilee Events everything comes together seamlessly.

Here are some images we are excited to show you, taken by the Master of her Craft- Carla Ten Eyck of Carla Ten Eyck Photography.  We love when our brides tell us they are having Carla shoot their wedding because we know we’re in for some great images! I loved this soft palette of peaches, pinks, soft whites and ivories, without further ado- let’s jump right in…

This may have been my favorite bouquet of the season- composed of hydrangea, peach ranunculus, David Austin garden roses, local dahlias, freesia and white astilbe with a touch of dusty miller at the base. A super soft color scheme, I have to say peach has been quite a star color the past 2 years, and from what I can tell so far for 2015, it is still going strong!

Let me just put up a few images, it’s that pretty!

The details on this strapless wedding gown are beautiful, I love the touches of lace as well.

Before we get into any further details- let me just say that these sock choices for the best-men pretty much give you idea of how cool this couple is.  Here is Mike with his matching boutonniere and the guys- with all of their miss-matched socks! I personally LOVE a quirky touch…

The girls all carried scaled down versions of the bridal bouquet, and once again the scenic Garrison has plenty of beautiful spots for photos.

Onto the Ceremony- this magnificent structure lives at The Garrison, and I would happily decorate it again and again! What an amazing arch, I can picture it done in so many ways….shown here with local Hydrangea and “Cyclops” Hanging Amaranthus, bringing in some green while keeping the decor simple so as not to overpower the structure itself.

I know this next shot doesn’t have flowers, but it’s such a beautiful story that I couldn’t not include it!

Onto the cocktail hour.  This birch treatment on the walls is definitely hitting my wish list, I need some of this in my living environment. Not  to mention, it’s fantastic as a backdrop for the simple yet elegant cocktail flowers in miss-matched milk-glass bud vases.Slide14

Being in complete love with succulents, these little individually planted guys in white clay pots were super cute for guest cards (stationary by Wordshop out of Denver)Slide13 Slide12

We love the story of this next photo- the meeting of places, touches of wood and gold.  I also love seeing bouquets used as decoration, it always feels good to know they have a home after the ceremony- and don’t they look fantastic, bringing in warmth with those peach campanella roses?

The centerpieces for Jenna and Mike were comprised of 2 styles, one a coordinating hand-tied arrangement in a birch container, the other a set of mismatched vintage glassware with tiny satellite arrangements to fill the tables.

The Cake. This cake is 3 layers of sheer perfection. Designed by the Pastry Garden… oh my!

Celia Grace 2015 Line Shoot, Eco-Friendly Dresses

Welcome to a New Year!  Anything can happen :)

As an appropriate first post of this Illustrious New Year, let us take a look at some of the flowers we created for this years’ line of Eco-friendly, Fair-Trade dresses from Celia Grace…

Marcie from Celia Grace contacted us after attending a friends’ wedding at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills in Middletown, Ct where we had done the flowers. She loved them so much, she asked us to provide some elements for their 2015 line of Wedding Dresses- and we jumped at the chance!

She explained that all of their dresses are handmade, using techniques that have been handed down for generations.  These dresses are created in Cambodia using heirloom hand woven silks, exquisite beading and details- did I mention the hand-tatted lace? They look and feel great, I couldn’t get over the ones I saw at the second line shoot up close.

Honestly, it had never occurred to me to consider the Fair-Trade concept applied to wedding gowns, my first reaction was “What?” but as she explained to me the value of knowing where the materials come from and who is doing the work for fair wages, it all made sense!

Check out their website to see the upcoming Trunk Shows, and try on a fair-trade gown!

Handtied Bouquet with many textures, garden roses, cymbidium orchids, scabiosa pods and ranunculus to name a few

One fine September morning found us driving a few bouquets to Brooklyn for some City shots- I have to say, it was a perfect day, a perfect drive and I even found perfect parking! How rare is that!?!

Handtied bouquet of David Austin Garden roses, maiden hair fern and orchids- loose and natural in style

We met one of Celia Graces designers, Alix Kivlin.  She had been our contact for this shoot and was terrific to work with- in a great mood, lively, beautiful and had also managed to secure the perfect parking for her mobile truck of photo shoot props and paraphernalia.
